Untangling The Obamacare Subsidies

Michael Cannon from the Cato Institute schools Bill O’Reilly on the problems with Obamacare and the subsidies issue.

He advocates reactivating the short-term insurance solution that Trump initiated during his first term. (Rand Paul recently approached Trump about passing Association Health Plans. Another alternative for those who don’t want to be ripped off by health insurance is the health care sharing ministry option that we have discussed here previously.)

Cannon is an expert. This is a discussion worth hearing and understanding:

  1. Thank you for sharing that, TC.

I think Obamacare should be killed all together but that isn’t happening.

At least let the subsidies expire in January 2026.

  2. When Trump doesn’t follow Cannon’s very excellent & simple recommendation, it will be confirmation that (aside from RFK’s and Holmon’s minor progress) that the Swamp (Sewer) has won.

    1. Absolutely, J. Sobran. And what is important about some of Cannon’s recommendations are that they are achievable. For various reasons, the GOP can’t repeal Obamacare, although they should. They can, however, chip away at it in various ways, make insurance more affordable and reduce its stranglehold on the marketplace.
