It was not terribly predictable that Trump would target North Carolina for ICE activities. He has mostly done this in blue states whereas North Carolina is a “purple” state.
However, the governor and the mayors of our major cities are all socialists. Perhaps that is why he chose to come. Perhaps he was trying to make North Carolina citizens more aware of where these “leaders” really stand.
And that has become clear over the last few days. Governor Stein, Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles, Charlotte’s police chief and now the Raleigh mayor are making a fuss or otherwise attempting to undermine what Trump is trying to do. Of course, Roy Cooper is acting similarly.
There should be no confusion. The federal government has jurisdiction over these matters; and is acting within its authority when it arrests and detains illegals. The socialists’ attempts to make this seem impermissible represent textbook cultural Marxism.
Here in Greensboro, this issue was discussed during the recent City Council elections. The candidates were nearly unanimous expressing their opposition to the premise that ICE might undertake activities here.
It is an interesting question as to whether Trump’s people might enter the Triad. They really should because our metro area is nearly as significant as the Triangle and Charlotte– and we have plenty of illegals.
Gov. Stein (previously the chief law enforcement officer of NC) is vehemently attacking police for arresting criminals who murder, rape, and rob tens of thousands of law-abiding citizens in our country every year.
Watching the news these days is like attending some kind of dystopian theater of the absurd.

I hope the people are watching, and that they remember. Are the Republicans smart enough to capitalize on the socialists’ response?
Just do it to aggravate the socialists like Mayor Lyles and the other socialists such as Cooper and Stein. I think the record on Trump’s efforts to arrest and deport these illegals has public support.
It is interesting, Fred, that a key, recurring part of their routine is to mislead and deceive people. But they also appeal to false morality and false compassion that is detached from a real conception of right and wrong.
