For reasons that initially were unclear, Trump shifted his primary attention away from Mexico and toward Venezuela from the standpoint of fighting cartels smuggling drugs into our country. We had been hearing over the last couple of weeks about military strikes on boats from Venezuela carrying drugs in our direction.
An article at Zero Hedge, however, fleshes out the story. We had known that the country has long had communist leadership. The allegation is that Venezuela is also funding leftist NGO’s in the United States sowing discord ; and has also been funding violent protest movements such as BLM and Antifa.
The article states that China has been working with Venezuela on all these matters, directly and indirectly.
Trump now has an aircraft carrier headed in that direction. Is there a plan for more extensive military action?
If that is the case, a declaration of war should be sought from Congress as the Constitution requires.
