Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Wants Two More New ER’s In Greensboro

The Triad Business Journal reported this week that one of these would be at S. Elm-Eugene St. near I-85. The other would be on N. Church St. near Lee’s Chapel Rd.

The medical arms race continues. One is strategically located south of Cone Hospital; and the other is located north of it. The organization’s new hospital will be on Horsepen Creek Rd. It will therefore nearly surround Cone on three sides if its applications are approved for these two ER’s.

Atrium Wake Forest Baptist– a division of Advocate Health, a national hospital system chain — cannot proceed without getting certificates of need from the state. Governor Josh Stein has already shown favoritism toward Cone Health by granting its application for a hospital in Mebane in spite of monopoly conditions.

Cone had affiliated itself with Kaiser Permanente— a California-based HMO enthusiast.

    1. Thanks, J. Sobran. I have little doubt this study, viewed together with other studies, helps demonstrate fairly conclusively what “the system” does not want us to know. RFK Jr is obviously fighting powerful forces to bring all of this to light and to act upon it. I wish I knew what will be the outcome.
