The Ukrainian war ends when the US taxpayer is freed from funding it.
I don’t know, J. Sobran. The EU/ NATO crowd is pretty determined, and it appears they are proceeding without our additional financial support. In addition, they continue to provoke the Russians. I am not suggesting they have a winning strategy– only that they are determined to have the war continue as it has been waged. I hope I am wrong about that, and that there is somehow a breakthrough.
I am unaware if the current proposed budget being discussed during the shutdown includes money for the Ukraine war. Had you seen anything about this?
Congressman Tim Burchette said money for Ukraine was in the budget. He asked why that was and was told it was in there because Trump asked for it. When Burchette asked the White House about it they said that wasn’t so. But it is still in there. Ukraine got a big tranche of US taxpayer money in December 2024.
Europe is broke and militarily pussified by 75 years of being US vassals.
OK, I stand corrected, J. Sobran. The media reports I had seen suggested that the Trump administration had decided to hold off on any additional financial support. But the congressional GOP leadership has been very determined to continue supporting Ukraine, and I suspect that is why it is in the budget.
But Trump is definitely sending mixed signals on Ukraine.
Screw the European Union. When we stop giving arms to that little Nazi he will wave the white flag will say uncle. As J. Sobran said earlier.
Fred, Trump is talking about selling arms to NATO who will then give the arms to Ukraine. We have been testing Russia’s patience for several years.
That “little Nazi” won’t say uncle unless NATO and the US truly force him to do so– or unless Russia bombs more heavily. For some reason, Russia has deferred on bombing key structures in Kyiv, and on bombing Kyiv in a severe way.
