I never knew the origin of the word Gerrymander. Thanks for the history lesson. These Democrats used it successfully for over a Millenia in NC to maintain political power. Now that the shoe is on the other foot the Democrats are crying like babies.
I agree, Fred. They also had other advantages because of the Voting Rights Act that Marc Elias and others used to their advantage. It’s good that aspect is probably going to be eliminated. But you are right that they were the most skillful, ruthless practitioners of gerrymandering until the Republicans took control with the 2010 elections.
