If the expected veto of House Bill 324 is overridden there will be a new day in North Carolina public education.
Concerning, however, is that the bill has no sanctions. Perhaps withholding state monies would be a good sanction on those school systems found to have violated the law. That would sure enough get their attention.
You raise a good point, Fred, that the General Assembly has authority over those school boards. The General Assembly leaders should USE it.
