I like Stephen K., but his ignorance about so many crucial things about WWII is a damned shame, such that he learned all the wrong lessons–those lessons endlessly trotted out by the Bush/Obama/Biden neocons to justify endless war.
It is hard to have international friends when you initiate trade wars against them. Including hostility towards those who would like to be your friends…Switzerland, Japan, India… Uniquely dishonest, totalitarian China is the only country we should be worrying about. The rest of the world should be our ally against them, instead of being spit upon by Trump.
I find it interesting, J. Sobran, that one of his concerns is the BRICS crowd that seeks to create a new reserve currency. Two of the critical mistakes over the last five years have been antagonizing Russia and ignoring the national debt. They want a new reserve currency because ours can no longer be trusted.
I agree with you that China is our biggest concern internationally.
