News And Record Blames Triad’s Wet Summer On Climate Change

It was entirely predictable they would make this assertion; and use the news pages to promote this interpretation.

They do not explain how, a mere 15 years ago or so, we had intense drought conditions locally that led to concerns about whether our drinking water supply would be adequate. The various lakes and reservoirs in our region were reaching dangerously low levels.

Was that due to climate change also? If so, how? Does climate change cause both wet conditions AND drought?

If the drought was not due to climate change, why was it not given the fact that climate change was being promoted as a major concern back then?

Note that the article admits we have had 12 summers that were more wet than this one over the last 122 years. Were the wet summers a century ago also due to climate change?

This makes me think of the Canadian wildfires within the last couple of years that were also attributed to climate change. It turns out the fires were set by environmental activists who were hoping it would heighten concern about climate change.

We have reason to be concerned about all the flooding over the last year; and I wonder whether artificially created climate conditions somehow are contributing.

I wish, though, that the climate change fanatics would knock it off– locally and nationwide. Their assertions don’t stand the test of scrutiny.
