There is an argument for keeping old vehicles maintained and running as long as possible. The electronics in new vehicles are problematic in a number of ways:

Wow ! That was a nice lesson. Since I don’t drive anymore , i guess I could care less. However I have children and grandchildren who must have a car. I would prefer that it be one without so many whistles and bells.
I have really come to the conclusion, Fred, that purchasing new cars is no longer desirable. Keep the junkers running!
