Greg Brannon, RIP

I learned this morning that Dr. Greg Brannon has passed away at age 64.

Dr. Brannon ran for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate against Thom Tillis during the 2014 primary season. I remember his coming to Guilford County for a candidate forum. In the large venue, among a large field of candidates, he was the person who absolutely electrified the crowd with his deep knowledge of the Constitution and America’s founding, and his referring to these things in a disciplined, impassioned fashion in response to questions.

Tillis’ goons worked with the corrupt mainstream media during the primary season to plant negative stories about Brannon that were of a dubious nature.

He was a committed Christian; and leaves behind his wife and seven kids. His career was as an OB-GYN specialist in the Triangle region.

    1. A great man, Fred. He mostly dropped out of the public eye after his candidacy, but he set a pretty high standard for other candidates to emulate; and nobody has even come close here in the state of NC.

  1. Greg Brannon was the epitome of principled conservatism and constitutionalism. God bless his soul and his beautiful family. RIP Greg. You are fondly remembered.

    1. Thanks, Virginia. Yes, he was awesome; and it was so disappointing that he could not get the nomination. What we have had to witness with Tillis highlights how much better it could have been. He spoke with a clarion, almost prophetic, voice.

  2. I thought Brannon was an outstanding candidate and gave him money. Didn’t they hatch some sort of bogus lawsuit that tied him in knots? 64 is so young, and I remember him as fit and slim. Dang. 7 kids losing their Dad.

    1. Yes, he was an outstanding candidate, J. Sobran. And it WAS dirty what was done to him. The regional MSM was more than happy to collaborate with Tillis’ operatives because they would much rather have a Tillis than a Brannon.

I don’t know the cause of death.

  3. Dr Brannon was a great man! He loved God, his Family, Life and Liberty(which he told me more than once that you achieved through good health and knowledge). I will miss him, along with many, many others! What a legacy, God bless his family
