Roy Cooper’s Announcement

I will add some commentary.

WNCN:

Right now, our country is facing a moment as fragile as I can remember, and the decisions we make in the next election will determine if we even have a middle class in America anymore…

He was silent as Biden spent so much money that enormous inflation was triggered severely affecting the middle class; when it was obvious Biden was cognitively impaired; when Biden blew open the border, bringing down middle class wages; and when Biden was provoking World War III.

I never really wanted to go to Washington. I just wanted to serve the people of North Carolina right here, where I’ve lived all my life…

He is serving progressive/ socialist, mostly Jewish Democratic megadonors, mostly from New York and California.

But these are not ordinary times. Politicians in D.C. are running up our debt, ripping away our health care, disrespecting our veterans, cutting help for the poor, and even putting Medicare and Social Security at risk just to give tax breaks to billionaires. That’s wrong, and I’ve had enough…

Many people lost their health insurance due to Obamacare. Socialist programs advocated by Democrats run up our debt. Cooper’s party disrespects veterans by disrespecting the country they served and its history. Overall federal spending causes debt that could potentially place Medicare and Social Security at risk– but Cooper’s party stands in the way of spending reductions. His political use of “tax breaks for billionaires” ignores the reality that higher taxes stand in the way of job gains and prosperity. But he elsewhere takes credit for these same job gains.

I thought on it and prayed about it, and I’ve decided: I want to serve as your next United States Senator, because even now, I still believe our best days are ahead of us. I love North Carolina, and I know you do, too. I need you to be with us. And I can’t wait to see you out there…

When he mentions teaching Sunday School and praying, remain mindful he has been part of a liberal mainline Presbyterian denomination that favors the LGBTQ agenda and supports abortion on demand. Our best days are not ahead if his party prevails. Indeed, his crowd causes decline, not advancement.

He took credit for teacher pay increases and other measures to achieve job gains during his taped announcement. But these were both pursued by the Republican General Assembly, regardless of whether we might agree or disagree with the methods. Passage of green energy legislation and Medicaid expansion were both huge mistakes, but he takes credit for these also.

Similarly, he takes credit for balanced budgets, but these are mandated by state law and were passed by Republicans.

This was an awful announcement. I hope the people are not deceived.

    1. TCFan, one of the peculiarities of NC politics is that Cooper never faced any real opposition throughout his entire career.

With this Senatorial election, I suspect he is going to be subjected to a barrage of well-funded negative advertising. I hope they do a good job with it, because it is richly deserved.

  1. He will campaign like a moderate and if elected vote as the socialist he is.
