With the dramatic escalation in valuations over the last five years, property taxes have become a cash cow for local governments. They swim in taxpayer money and waste it. The whole system needs to be overhauled:

The revaluations are the killer. Without any change in the rate, property owners are hit with larger and larger bills. I don’t know the answer but the solons in Raleigh might be able to come up with a solution to these unduly burdensome taxes.
