City Approves Townhomes On Friendly Avenue In Midst Of Conservation Overlay

The Preserve Friendly Avenue organization reports that the Greensboro Zoning Commission approved for Glenn Drew to build his luxury townhomes on the plot of land he inherited from his uncle.

Recall that Drew is the Jewish guy who ran the failed American Hebrew Academy at Hobbs and Jefferson; who relinquished it to parties that were planning to use it for illegal immigrants; and who also pursued for profit this development project on Friendly Avenue in spite of neighborhood opposition. The almighty dollar prevailed.

The city granted the Preserve Friendly Avenue request for a conservation overlay for that stretch of Friendly Avenue; but Drew artfully got his project approved just before the conservation overlay became effective.
