Guilford County Commissioners Heard From Property Owners

Sparks flew at the county commissioners’ meeting last night. A similar meeting took place at the Greensboro City Council earlier this week.

Even if the county commissioners adopt a revenue-neutral property tax rate after the recent revaluations, some property owners will face steep tax hikes. Some fear they will lose their homes.

The county commissioners likely will not fix this problem for everyone. The question is how they will handle it; and how hard they will try.

My hunch is that these large crowds at these meetings arose fairly spontaneously. I am not sure there was an organized effort to get everyone to attend. These people are genuinely afraid.

Perhaps the people of Guilford County will finally learn they should not vote for socialists.

  1. Most voters know a communist from a free enterprise Republican but keep kicking the can down the road. That is until reality kicks in as demonstrated by the City Council and County Commissioners meetings. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!!

    1. I agree, Fred, absolutely. I think the only thing that might help property owners with the county commissioners is the fact that many black homeowners are going to get hurt. Skip and his crowd would probably love to create a redistributionist, race-based solution, but somehow I doubt state law permits that.
