The following candidate forum occurred recently in Rockingham County. (HT: AP Dillon). It is fairly brief to view.
This is the most interesting race in the state this year, for various reasons:
Constitutional Conservatism and Biblical Christianity in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina
Berger has spent an ungodly amount of money on this race. Prima facie, I don’t think he could raise that amount of money for a legislative race unless he had done some favors that wouldn’t stand the light of day. The casino thing, the dispossession of Summerfield, and the endorsement of the braggadocios boor, Trump, make me wonder if he has devolved into a Uniparty normal politician.
Having said that, you could probably do worse than Berger, and Paige is not exactly an articulate spokesman presenting a superior alternative. Not responding to the NRA questionnaire doesn’t speak well of him.
The voters in this district have a big decision to make, J. Sobran, obviously. It has been pretty filthy thus far, and I will be glad when the primary election is over.
J. Sobran is correct, Page is not articulate. I think Berger will toss Page into the dustbin of history. As President Trump has made the right decision.
I saw an article, Fred, that suggested Page might win the Rockingham County portion of the district, whereas Berger might win the Guilford County portion. And apparently the Guilford portion has more voters. I can’t vouch for the correctness of that information; and I don’t know how reliable the polls have been.
