Having said that, the word “woke” was initially used to describe someone who was hypersensitive to any conceivable racial slight, but without any of the negative connotations associated with being hypersensitive. Rather virtue was uniquely attached to this hypersensitivity.
Thankfully, the word has evolved into a handy way to describe leftists, having taken on some connotations of pretense and fraud. A much more fitting word than “liberal”, since leftists are not liberal.
The leftists– the “woke”– are demolition crews, J. Sobran. They seek to destroy all that is good and productive. You are correct about the connotations of false virtue, pretense and fraud. These devices they use are truly despicable– as is their ideology itself.
