Last week, I had posted here a video of a gentleman arguing that churches should remain open and people should go to church during snow events because, after all, folks will attend football games under these conditions.
Here in the Triad, nearly all churches cancelled services yesterday. No surprise there.
But in Denver, the AFC championship game yesterday pitted Drake Maye and the Patriots against the Broncos. The second half featured the sudden onset of blizzard conditions. The Patriots prevailed; and UNC’s former quarterback will be playing in the Super Bowl.
But the guy in the video was proved absolutely correct by the fans in the stands who remained and watched outdoors in the midst of the blizzard until the game was concluded.
Much in life has to do with motivation.
I will settle for my UNC Tar Heels winning any national championship.
One former Tar Heel has a great shot in a couple of weeks, Fred. And his team has a great defense that will hopefully contain the Seahawks’ offense.
