The News and Record reported yesterday that Duke Energy has filed to have as many as six nuclear reactors at its current Belews Creek generating station.
We are currently seeing smaller nuclear reactors advocated to be used on a widespread basis.
It should be noted that the data center planned for Stokes County is in very close in proximity to Belews Creek, and would likely use power from that source.
The data centers need large amounts of electric energy and Duke is simply supplying the demand.
