  1. Legal immigration is part of our long established traditions. The trouble is that it has been abused to allow people in who will not assimilate and fraudulently take advantage of our welfare system. Minnesota is a glaring example of this phenomenon. What to do ?

    1. I think, Fred, you start with an absolute immigration moratorium. You keep it in place until the disastrous 1965 Hart Celler Act and the legislation dealing with refugees are repealed. Then you build from scratch new legislation that better reflects the interests of the American people.

      1. Well said, Triad! The US had significant restrictions on immigrations ~1923-1965, presumably to attempt better assimilation of the massive immigration of the previous decades. Back when the US was still a republic and eruptions of rationality were possible by the Congress.
