I am among those who believe there were ample justifications for the Crusades. Southern Italy and Sicily– the places from which my grandparents immigrated– were among those conquered, occupied and ruled by the Muslims centuries ago:

Islam should be eradicated everywhere it exists in the West. Easier said than done.
At this point, Fred, that would appear to be nearly impossible, as you seem to suggest. But you are right– that would be the ideal.
