AP Dillon reports on organized chapters affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America here in North Carolina. That includes groups here in Greensboro and Winston-Salem.
This is the same group of which Mamdani is part.

I checked out the Greensboro Chapter and didn’t see any names I recognized.
I am not worried about this fringe group. I think they couldn’t fill up a school classroom with their members.
Yes, they are a movement who wants Marxism for NC. Ain’t gonna happen.
As you know, Fred, socialism occurs at different levels, and both major parties engage in socialism to some degree. I think the impact a group such as this can have in North Carolina is by engaging in or promoting various protests that could become violent. We saw the confluence of multiple Marxist groups with the Confederate statue removals and with the George Floyd riots. They can be part of the Color Revolution/ Cultural Revolution. A huge political impact in Raleigh otherwise? No, I agree with you about that.
