Social Security Is On Borrowed Time

Twenty years ago, George W. Bush floated the idea of investing Social Security taxes in the stock market but was shot down by the socialists. He quickly gave up the idea.

Porter Stansberry floats another idea. He says otherwise the fund will be depleted within ten years. At that point, the government is legally obligated to cut benefits:

    1. I don’t know, Fred. Based on what Stansberry has written, the government would cut benefits to the extent that what is disbursed does not exceed what is coming in. I have no idea what kinds of percentages we would be looking at; and I expect the politicians at that point would “means test” benefits. Those who have more would get less– a perfect Marxist framework.
