As Florida’s Surgeon General Lapado has, along with folks such as Peter McCullough, loudly spoken out against the value on COVID vaccines . In September 2025, Ladapo announced that Florida would end all vaccine mandates, including those for children in schools, comparing the practice to slavery.
In early 2020, Ladapo began to write op-eds for The Wall Street Journal on the emerging COVID-19 pandemic and gained prominence as a skeptic of mainstream consensus on prevention and treatment.
I think he has been proven right.
He is a great man, Fred. He has been willing to stick his neck out when others have not been. Of course, DeSantis has provided him the freedom to do so.
