Triad Educators Discuss Impacts of Covid Response

The Triad Business Journal has an article about a panel discussion on education. Several individuals involved in various aspects of education in the Triad were quoted. The discussion regarded how the Covid response affected young people in the schools.

What were their observations?

  • Decreased social and emotional heath and abilities
  • Delayed social interactions
  • Difficulty being away from home
  • Decreased work ethic
  • Less academic ability
  • Absenteeism
  • Lower test scores
  • Anxiety

Gee, you think?

I wonder where these people were, and what they were saying, when we were in the midst of all this mess.

To her credit, one of the educators at a charter school in Kernersville indicated she brought her kids back to school much more quickly than others.

  1. Fred Gregory leaves the following comment:

The children in NC public schools during the COVID scare are having a tough row to hoe adjusting in various ways, as the article in TBJ pointed out. The damage wrought during thIs unfortunate period lays squarely at the feet of Roy and Mandy.
