What the GOP doesn’t need is a senator like Tillis. I once had a face to face meeting with him regarding an important matter. He came across as arrogant . Furthermore he dissembled on a fact I knew to be true.
Hoping that the next Senator from NC will be a true conservative.
The “blue slip” tradition stinks, Fred. It is designed to give more power– essentially, a veto– to individual Senators in home states. This is well above and beyond the “advise and consent” constitutional requirement. We see Republican Senators tougher on Trump nominees than they are on socialist nominees.
Re “showing his tail” Tillis cannot absquatulate (leave dragging your tail between your legs) and too soon.
Whately is probably cut from the same cloth. He had just enthusiastically endorsed Tillis right before Tillis said he wouldn’t run again. Think about the fact that he is been a professional Republican long enough to run for Senate and you’ve never heard him utter word one about the numerous way the US has been going to hell in a handbasket for the last decade. He thought the J6 persecutions were just fine.
Trump should stop focusing on Ukraine and trade war bullying and focus on how the Uniparty is stifling America First by holding up all manner of his appointments. Even sikking a saboteur on RFK for FDA head.
J. Sobran, you might find it interesting that the Senate Conservatives Fund has targeted six races for next year. Whatley is not among its endorsees; although it is possible he might be added later. Somehow, I doubt it, however:
