This is probably a very good idea. But for it to become law, the Republican leaders in both houses must allow it to be voted upon; and 60 percent of Senators must approve. There are MANY good bills that cannot survive that process, unfortunately: (HT: TS)

Leading the house and Senate is like herding cats.
It absolutely is, Fred. Some will have very “principled” reasons for not allowing this to become law, one way or another.
How does one explain voting against this? Or maybe that is no longer a thing.
I don’t know, J. Sobran. Bills like this often are killed by leadership before they see the light of day. Thus, there is no recorded vote. I guess we will see if this bill is somehow allowed to advance and be voted upon.
