When A 4-Year Old Child Gets Shot In An East Greensboro Park

A report at Fox 8 describes the outrage and exasperation of parents and community residents in the wake of a four year old child getting shot in an east Greensboro park. Among those quoted is City Council member Sharon Hightower.

The report, however, does not discuss the concrete steps east Greensboro residents and public officials must take to reverse this type of situation. For instance, they must repudiate and abandon their reflexive anti-police stance. Second, they must repudiate and abandon the practice of conceiving and raising children out of wedlock. Third, they must maintain intact two-parent opposite sex marriages to better supervise and raise kids.

These are major cultural changes that would be needed. But it makes no sense to be angry and exasperated when the tragedies you witness unfolding around you are the direct consequence of your own attitudes and behaviors.
