  1. Also 17 years ago, Robin Williams starred in “Man of the Year” about computerized voting gone awry which resulted in a comedian being elected President.
    Eerie.

    1. Jaycee, I am noticing a pattern that many of the concerns conservatives are expressing these days are similar to concerns that were expressed by liberals 15-25 years ago. Now, they don’t care because they have power. Election fraud; FISA searches; governmental surveillance; etc.

  2. Another odd 17 year coincidence.
I’m watching the 2006 movie “V for Vendetta” about utopian future England, run by “Adam Sutler” (John Hurt).
V wants to overthrow the tyranny, he gives a hacked TV speech:
“… there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn’t there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who’s to blame? … truth be told, if you’re looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn’t be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent.”
There’s also a gov’t media propaganda campaign maligning the V movement blaming them for, among other things, an airborne virus.
    More eerie stuff.
