I had posted here about Rush Limbaugh's cancer diagnosis one year ago.
The superlatives today have been flowing freely from many other sources. And they are all justified.
But one fact remains-- and it is a fact that Limbaugh himself admitted recently. Unfortunately-- he had failed, as have all of us in the conservative/constitutional commentariat. The nation has not been moved in our direction; and many of us know why. The full-blown communist/fascist takeover we have been witnessing over the last year is but one piece of evidence-- but not the only one, by any means.
Consider the following:
- the progressive/socialist march through the institutions;
- the corruption of the ideology of the young by the education establishment and by other online influences;
- the massive hits to marriage, life, family and religious liberty;
- the dramatic rise in anti-Americanism and the resultant loss of social cohesion;
- the deliberate alteration of the nation's demographic mix, and how that came about;
- the abject refusal of the Republican establishment to stand for conservatism, and deliver better outcomes for the American people;
- the massive increase in the federal debt;
- the enormous, contorted welfare state; and
- the massive degree of excessive federal power and activity at the expense of the states and the people.
The tragedy is that Rush was watching this all unfold in florid display during his last dying days. It is a tragedy for all of us.
So sad. A great loss. Hard to replace. RIP

Yes, he is hard to replace, Fred. The country is, also.
