Kathy Manning is the new member of Congress representing the Marxist enclave of Greensboro, NC. Her victory was assured when the activist courts forced redistricting upon the state of North Carolina.
Manning's first significant vote was made today when she supported President Trump's impeachment.
Manning is a Jewish woman who previously was heavily involved in the campaign to push Greensboro's new performing arts center. She was celebrated for her fundraising efforts on behalf of the center. But questions have been raised as to whether donors have come through with their pledged amounts. The taxpayers get stuck, of course, with the remainder.
The center itself was scheduled to have its grand opening last March, but COVID put those plans on hold. The building has sat dormant.
It is an ugly building that incorporates no elements of classical beauty. It is a bit reminiscent of the architecture that proliferated in Germany and Italy during the Fascist period.
Her husband, after years of trying, finally secured massive governmental funding for the parking deck next to his planned downtown hotel.
They live in a palatial mansion on Greensboro's Kemp Road West where they have previously hosted fundraisers for democratic socialist presidential candidates. Somehow, the politics of redistribution do not require their divesting themselves of their wealth.
This is quite an inauspicious beginning for our dear Ms. Manning. In spite of all the hypocritical calls for unity and healing from her side of the aisle, it was an incredibly divisive vote.
I miss Ted Budd
