The news was fascinating late this past week.
The Rhino Times will no longer be published as a weekly print newspaper.
However, it will continue to exist-- online only. And it will be publishing stories online apparently throughout the week, instead of publishing Thursdays only. For instance, a number of news stories were posted on Friday.
In addition, the Rhino has re-hired Paul Clark who used to write for the old Rhinoceros Times. Clark is probably the best the publication has ever had; and writes from a definite conservative perspective.
We are all aware that the Rhino Times overall is not nearly as conservative as it had been represented to be. And we know that readers cannot rely upon their primary and general election endorsements, which tend toward establishment Republicans and Democrats who are crony socialist in orientation. Development and commercial real estate interests tend to flavor the endorsements.
But reporting stories more frequently and hiring Clark are two great developments; and will hopefully provide some competition to the New and Record. Greensboro's daily paper provides only limited local reporting; and has historically had a horrendous left-wing political and cultural bias.
