It is articles like this that prevented Zachary from taking part in the CFCG candidate forum. I am asking you to refrain from making any statements that may hurt his feelings.

What he fails to realize is that MANY people, left and right are catching on to the games that politicians like him are playing. As a matter of fact, I wrote a tune for politicians like himself. I hope you don't mind me sharing.

Yes, Tommy, many folks ARE catching on. And thanks for passing along the link to the YouTube.

Most excellent post.

Not only are “economic incentives” (taxpayer subsidies) a revolving door, it is a localized revolving door as well.

Accomplished rent seeker enablers, such as Mr. Matheny, know the following proposition and play the voting public like a fiddle:

[Paraphrasing] We would all like to see government spending go down as long as it is not the government spending that affects us. We would all like to see government deficits go down as long as increased taxes fall on someone else. Most people welcome more government spending on them, few welcome more taxes. - Money Mischief: Episodes in Monetary History, Milton Friedman

Thanks, Bill. And yes, there IS a revolving door aspect to this mess. And Zack's supporters in the development-related interests believe fervently in what he has been doing-- even if Greensboro overall has fared poorly.

I never stop being amazed over the way some so-called "conservative" politicians expect the tax paying public to fund grandiose projects without protest or oversight.

That is the height of arrogant, obnoxious and self-entitled elitist abuse of the public trust and purse.

It's Business As Usual around this town.

Bob, don't you remember? If you are not on board with the program, you are a "naysayer".
