Some readers might be interested in the ongoing effort by the Constitution Party of North Carolina to secure a place on the ballot.
We need approximately 12,000 valid signatures to attain this goal.
As of today, we have obtained approximately 15,900 signatures. Roughly 10,200 have been validated by the various county boards of elections statewide. Additional petitions are in the process of being validated; and others have yet to be turned in. Thus far, we have had an approximate 78 percent validation rate.
We have a dedicated group of volunteers statewide who have been laboring faithfully toward this effort, working at various events and venues.
We believe we probably have enough signatures to secure ballot access at this point. However, we are still collecting and turning in more signatures. Much depends upon whether the respective county boards of elections discharge their responsibilities in an appropriate fashion with regard to the remaining signatures... and ultimately, of course, the State Board of Elections.
Assuming that we succeed, North Carolina voters for the first time in modern history will be able to support a party that is consistently and reliably conservative from a social and cultural standpoint; and also from a limited-government/constitutional standpoint.
That would truly be something to celebrate.
We still have a critical need for fundraising support toward this effort and subsequent needs. To donate, please click here.
