Breitbart has an interesting story about a new effort among Senate Republicans to craft immigration-related legislation. The effort represents a compromise, and incorporates conservative reform measures and a form of amnesty for 690,000 young "DACA" illegals.
How did Senator Thom Tillis from North Carolina respond?
Tillis used his 10-minute speech to tout his SUCCEED Act which would provide a 15-year path to citizenship for up to 2 million illegals who could subsequently bring in chain-migrants, including their parents.
The SUCCEED Act “will be considered in the process … [as] a solution for undocumented children,” said Tillis, who is a strong advocate for outsourcing Americans’ jobs. The average age of the DACA recipient is 26.
The SUCCEED Act would allow illegals who say they entered the country younger than 16 by mid-2012 to get work permits and then apply for citizenship in 15 years. The authors say the bill would cover up to 1 million people, but recent estimates by the pro-amnesty Migration Policy Institute says the bill would cover up to 2 million younger illegals. That inflow is equivalent to two new foreigners for every four Americans born in 2017.
Chain migration typically brings in 3.45 more immigrants for each one already here. So Tillis' legislation would bring in at least an additional 3-6 million on top of the 1-2 million he proposes to grant amnesty.
This type of mischief led the 3rd District GOP to issue a strong condemnation of Tillis several days ago. First in Freedom recently shared a video demonstrating how candidate Tillis a few years ago lied by stating his opposition to amnesty during campaign season.
What else has Thom Terrific been doing?
He betrayed the Republican base by scheming with the democratic socialists on gun control. Media reports have indicated he has teamed up with Dianne Feinstein on this matter.
In addition, he has yet to call for Al Franken's resignation even though he continues to go out of his way to verbalize his opposition to supporting Roy Moore. Here is what was reported today about Tillis' stance regarding Franken:
Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina echoed Portman's take on Franken in wanting a complete and thorough ethics investigation before any decision is made.
"I think we need to be consistent and I think that the allegations against Mr. Franken are pretty significant," Tillis said. "The fact that we had 10 Democrat members call for his resignation today suggests that they even have information that we’ve not yet seen. That needs to be a subject of the Senate investigation and if the allegations are true, he should go."
Breitbart meanwhile does a great job describing what is at stake with a continuation of our open borders policy in this contracted economy:
Each year, four million Americans turn 18 and begin looking for good jobs in the free market.
But the federal government inflates the supply of new labor by annually accepting one million new legal immigrants, by providing almost two million work-permits to foreigners, by providing work-visas to roughly 500,000 temporary workers, and doing little to block the employment of roughly eight million illegal immigrants.
The Washington-imposed economic policy of mass-immigration floods the market with foreign labor and spikes profits and Wall Street values by cutting salaries for manual and skilled labor offered by blue-collar and white-collar employees. It also encourages discrimination against American workers, drives up real estate prices, widens wealth gaps, reduces high-tech investment, increases state and local tax burdens, and hurts kids’ schools and college education. Furthermore, it pushes Americans away from high-tech careers and reduces the work activity rate below the rate in foreign rivals, which sidelines millions of marginalized Americans and their families, including many who are now struggling with opioid addictions.
That is what Thom Tillis is doing to the people of North Carolina. His nomination three years ago was an absolute sham perpetrated upon the party's conservative base within the state. His only value as a U.S. Senator is being able to vote in favor of Trump's judicial nominations. That is about it.
What a waste.
