I just viewed online the press conference given by President Trump today. It should have fully dispensed with the nonsense instigated by the corrupt media/left complex regarding Russia.
But there is at least one investigation brewing in the U.S. Senate. It has been urged by Republican U.S. Senators who do not like Trump. And interestingly enough, the Senate Intelligence Committee will manage one key investigation.
Who chairs that committee? North Carolina Senator Richard Burr, who reportedly is fairly close to John McCain and Lindsey Graham.
Burr, McCain and Graham are part of the grand national Republican tradition emphasizing a high level of foreign interventionism, a tepid brand of economic conservatism, and little-to-no commitment to constitutional, limited government conservatism. They have all been in Washington a very long time; and some Senate Republicans do not like what Trump represents.
When Burr agreed to this investigation, he was heeding media/left demands regarding Trump and Russia. It was a quick and easy cave, with no apparent resistance.
It will be interesting to see what this committee produces. But with widespread suspicion that the Deep State wants to undermine Trump-- or perhaps impeach him-- Burr plays an important role.
Perhaps he will remember that the people of the state of North Carolina chose Trump by a solid margin.
