You're right that something's wrong with that picture, because it's a dumb picture. Coulter has never been very good with facts.

Coulter's math is not that far off the mark, because much of Mexico's immigration (legal and illegal) has been RECENT-- within the last couple of generations. Many of those of Mexican ancestry born within the US within the last couple of generations are the offspring of parents that were here illegally.

The comparison with Irish immigration is inapt, because that particular wave of immigration took place many generations ago, and has long since ceased. Of course, that particular wave of immigration from long ago resulted in many descendants.

Apples and oranges.

Andrew, would you care as much about obfuscating the reality of the impact of illegal immigration if it were not such a great benefit to the democratic socialists?
